Chester Astronomical Society is one of the world's oldest scientific societies going back to 1892.
It hosts public lectures by amateurs and professionals alike and arranges visits to sites of technical interest.

Long Service
The society wish to thank two ladies for their long service on the committee.
Maureen Layzell has served on the committee for 28 years, 25 as
treasurer.Stella Brookes has done 36 years on the committee during which
she did 10 as secretary.
